I recently decided to upgrade from a wakeboard boat to a cruiser. I had no idea what to look for, I was all over the place. I called my friend Tom and we had several conversations over several weeks and we decided on the type of boat that would best fit my family’s needs.
Immediately, Tom started to research and came back with a spreadsheet that met my criteria: pricing, boat manufacturer, hours on the boat, diesel vs gasoline engine, equipment & electronics, location, etc.
Once we narrowed the search by eliminating boats with certain shortcomings, we agreed on a few boats. Tom took the trip to Maine to check out one of the boats and the next was in Glen Cove, Long Island. Tom checked back with the broker on another boat that we liked but was in contract and discovered that the deal had stalled. He made the trip tp Ohio and made an offer that was accepted, pending the outcome of surveys on the boat's hull, systems and engine as well as a sea trial. He subsequently arranged financing and transport of the boat back to Long Island. my family and I are now, happily, in the boat of our dreams, at a very good price.
I would highly recommend that ANYONE buying a boat, either for the first time or upgrading, should engage Tom’s services. His knowledge, experience, and negotiating skills are invaluable and I would have NEVER been able to get my new boat, at this price, without Tom’s guidance and oversight.
